The philosophy of the workshop
“The understanding of type can make your perceptions clearer, your judgements sounder, and your life closer to your heart’s desire.” – ISABEL BRIGGS MAYER
The Myers-Briggs Type Indicator® (MBTI®) instrument and process is considered the most widely used tool in the world for Personality Analysis & Career Orientation and Development. It helps in the following fields:
-Gain Self-Awareness & Build Confidence
-Find your ideal profession (according to your personality)
-Unlock a person’s full potential career-wise and in general
-Develop yourself and your career
-Manage change more effectively
-Understand and eliminate stress reaction
-Communicate better with others
-Become a better leader
-Resolve Conflicts
-Enable decision-making
The MBTI helps us understand a person’s unique personality based on the person’s most important personality traits and it gives us important information on how to encourage this person’s strengths but also compensate for its weaknesses.
It has helped many people around the world to understand apart from their own personalities, the personalities of those around them, as well as their strengths and weaknesses personally and professionally. With its help we understand what is the best “fit” for each employee in a company in order to increase both employee satisfaction as well as the company’s performance.
Employers, Managers, and business people learn how to distinguish their own strengths and weaknesses as well as those of their employees. More importantly, they learn how to encourage each employee’s unique strengths in order to bring the best out of him at work. Lastly, it shows us how to develop hobbies that fit our personalities and how to use our strengths and compensate for our weaknesses in our work. This way both employers/managers and employees feel much more rewarding and live more happy and fulfilling lives.
Personality type analysis has three important sections:
In the first section «Discover the aspects of your personality» we find the 4 more important aspects of our personality. Scientist have concluded that when we do know those, this help us make better choices in our work and in our life and thus be more happy. More specifically, we analyze the following aspects of our personality:
If we are an Extrovert or an Introvert, meaning how we relate with the world around us and if we charge our batteries by being with others or by spending time alone.
-If we are a Sensor or an Intuitive, meaning how we take in information from the world around us. If we rely more on our 5 senses we are a sensing type, while if we rely more on our 6th sense, our intuition, we are an intuitive. For example, sensing types are usually good with details, while intuitive types can be creative and see easier the bigger picture.
-If we are a Thinker or a Feeler, meaning how we make decisions in our life, if we take them with our mind or with our heart.
-If we are a Judger or a Perceiver, meaning if we want to live our lives in a more structured or spontaneous way.
In the second section «Formula for personal and business success» – and according to our personality type – we analyze the below important points:
-Our temperament, meaning the traits of our personality that are found in the core/central part of our personality.
-Our dominant/most strong characteristic, as we all have one characteristic that stands out from the rest as our strongest.
-Our weakest characteristics and how to develop them as we all seek to round out our personalities consciously or unconsciously during life. For example, a person that is a feeler learns how to develop his/her thinking in order to take better decisions and thus make better choices in his/her life.
-How and in what specific chronological order these traits of our personality are developed thru our life.
– Which elements of our personality we let others see, and which elements do we keep for ourselves.
-Τhe effective decision making model and how to take effective decisions in our personal & professional life.
Last but not least, one very important things in this section is that we learn how to recognize the strongest traits in the personality of others and how to encourage these traits, something that is of the most essential importance for the development of our children, employees etc. and for helping them to become successful.
In the third section «Do as you are & do what you are » we find all the things that matches our personalities in terms of hobbies, interests, careers etc. as well as the ten elements/career satisfiers that we want to have in our personal, academic, and professional environment in order to feel happy.
Overall Personality type analysis & career development help us to understand better ourselves as well as those around us, how to perform better at work, how to resolve conflicts more effectively and finally how to reach our full potential!
Overall, we learn how to live more fulfilling lives personally and professionally, and how enrich the relationships both with our co-workers/colleagues but also with our family & friends.
Finally, well-known companies that work with the MBTI tool are: Deloitte, Nike, Ogilvy, IKEA, McKinsley, Boston Consulting Group etc., and 90% of Fortune 100 companies use the MBTI tool.
The process can be done 1:1 or in a workshop, either online or live, in one day or two days, depending on how much info we want to share with the team, and if we want to do interactive games to show how the different types of people interact with each other in the workplace.
